Portraits of Real People

Sometimes I just like to draw someone I know in portraiture. These I do for myself.  This can and does include my boyfriend and children;) I post some, but not all. One day I’ll do my dog, Riza (yes, named after Riza Hawkeye of Fullmetal Alchemist fame). This section is not for sale, except to the people who asked to have the commissions done. When I do a commission, I usually ask for a photograph and a pose, or just a photograph. It doesn’t have to be a great picture – I can fix just about anything with Corel Painter and then use the corrected picture for drawing the portrait. I can also add any background imaginable. It doesn’t have to be what’s in the picture. Want your kid with a stormy sea behind him, but he’s never seen the ocean? I can do that;) Digital art makes this sort of thing amazingly easy. Of course, I do tend to stay somewhat true to my realistic anime style. Want a picture of yourself as your favorite anime character or your boyfriend turned into a bishie? I can do that, too.
